Villefranche is a picturesque, quaint old town situated in the French Riviera, not too far from Nice. In fact it’s just a short bus ride away. It is great for a day trip, you will surely enjoy the beautiful scenery along with the shops and restaurants.

Villefranche is a small town, with a population of 5,033 people. It was founded in the early 14th century. Inhabitants are called villefranchois(e)

Villefranche is known as a colourful town. You can see a fusion of pastel colours in the photos of these apartments and local shops.

You will find a strong Italian influence here as it is 48 minutes away from Italy ( Ventimiglia) by train.

You will see the signature cobbled streets and stairs throughout the town and lots of potted plants and flowers.

Villefranche-sur-mer has a sandier beach than it’s neighboring towns, which gives it that extra touch of class.

If you visit on a Wednesday or a Saturday, you will see the twice-weekly market. The Villefranche-sur-Mer market is held in Jardin Francois Binon. You will find ceramic products, fabrics, fresh foods such as fruits and vegetables, olive oil, cheeses, and of course lovely flowers.

Villefranche harbour is apparently one of the deepest in the Riviera.
