One of the main attractions in Lille at Christmas, is the renown Christmas market. People travel from all over the world to check out the Village de Noel de Rihour; otherwise known as the Christmas market of Rihour.
It’s a relatively moderate sized market with lots to buy. Let’s say that there is something here for everyone, from souvenirs, skin care, jewellery, to hot or cold food and drink. You will probably need about 1 hour to see all the stalls.

As you enter, your bags will be searched for security reasons. This is normal practice in France, especially during holiday seasons or wherever there is a large gathering of people entering a space or building.

During the Christmas season you will see Santons for sale locally. So it’s no surprise that you will find them here. Santons meaning little saints; are small figurines made from clay that portray the colorful people, traditional trades, activities and costumes of Provence. Santons originate from the notion of the Provencal inhabitants en route to the Nativity with their offerings.

The rise organic skin care products has also increased in France as people are looking for better alternatives from the harsh chemicals that are generally used in most products.
Marseille soap which of course originated from Marseille, can be traditionally found all over France.

Donkey milk is used in skin creams as it is promoted as a means to nourish and regenerate your skin. It apparently contains essential fatty acids and amino acids that aid in cell construction.

Candles always make easy gifts for Christmas. These cupcake candles look so real, be careful not to try to taste them 😆
On a serious note, if you buy one be sure to keep them out of the reach of small children.

Here is something delicious that you can eat; the chocolate tools. But they look like so much work has gone into them that you might just want to keep them for aesthetic purposes!

The Christmas market is one stop away from Euralille by metro. And is literally a 2 minute walk from the metro Rihour.
