Miss Wob Dwiyet 2019

Garments for the Miss Wob Dwiyet fashion show.

Each year a fashion show takes place at the Dominican High Commission in London.

Above are some of the candidates dressed up in the traditional Wob Dwiyet dress from Dominica, ready to compete for the title of Miss Wob Dwiyet for the year.

There was also an international catwalk with models wearing African attire and Asian (Indian) wear. Above are some of the models in some traditional African Ankara designs.

Wob Dwiyet was derived from the French term Robe Douillette, meaning soft dress. This is the traditional dress in the Commonwealth of Dominica. The photo above shows this year’s contestants, who were competing for the title of Miss Wob Dwiyet. Who will be crowned miss WobDwiyet 2019?

The well deserved winner of the pageant was Deborah Williams, photographed below.
